governing_body = The Madison Theatre, inPeoria, Illinois ,United States , opened onOctober 16 ,1920 as a silent picture theatre. The building was commissioned by Dee Robinson, and designed by Frederick J. Klein; it was added to theNational Register of Historic Places onNovember 21 ,1980 . The side of the building is located directly across Main Street from thePere Marquette Hotel , also on the National Register. [However, other businesses now operate within the areas of the building facing Main street, therefore entrance into the Theater proper is now obtained solely through the main entrance located on Madison. cite news
