Bermo is a census town in Bokaro district in the state of Jharkhand, India.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [GR|India] Bermo had a population of 16,954. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bermo has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Bermo block, one of the six administrative blocks of Bokaro district , Jharkhand state, India, has a population (1991 census) of 212,090. The block is composed of thirty-three villages.

Politics

Bermo is considered to be one of the political hub of Jharkhand. There are numbers of Political Activities taking place in the Bermo Block. This is the working place of many of the political leaders like Lt. Bindeshwari Dubey (Ex. C.M.), Lt. Ramadhar Singh, Lt. Fulena Prasad Verma, Rajendra Pd. Singh, Rabindra Kr. Pandey, Sarfaraj Ahmad etc.
