Jason Torney (born 16 June 1977) is an Australian rules footballer and played 12 seasons in the Australian Football League.

Debuting with Richmond in 1996 as a 19-year-old (a week after his birthday), Torney was slow in his development in the AFL. He played just 5 games after his first in the 1996 season, averaging 5 disposals including not picking up any in one game. The next season, he became an important player for Richmond, picking up 15 possessions around half back and half forward. Torney stayed at the club until 2002, when he thought a move back home was on the cards, after a great season. The deal saw Kane Johnson move back home to Victoria.

He played every game for Adelaide in the 2003 season, picking up stacks of disposals. He played just 6 games the next year though, and in 2005 was frustrated with an on-going back problem.

In 2006, the well-respected Torney was listed as part of the 8-man leadership group. But this season, once again he has been nagged by injury, playing his first game of the year in Round 12. It remains to be seen if Torney will be kept in the leadership group for the 2007 season.

Jason Torney played every game in 2007. In his last AFL game, the elimination final against Hawthorn he kicked a long goal 55 metres out near the boundary line to put Adelaide up by 4 points with 3 minutes remaining. However Adelaide struggled to get possession and Lance Franklin kicked a goal from a similar distance with 10 seconds remaining to end it.

Torney was delisted at the end of the 2007 season. In 2008 he will return to South Adelaide in the SANFL.
