- Beavan's Hill
Beavan's Hill is a village in south east
Herefordshire ,England .The village is situated on the edge of Withymoor Wood, an area of
ancient woodland [Herefordshire Council - Draft Unitary Development Plan - Nature Conservation and Geological Sites [http://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/UDP/Documents/UDP/Draft/PDF/Appdcsac.pdf] (pdf) retrieved2006 -06-24 ] , and on comparatively high ground forming the watershed between the rivers Wye and Severn. The village is near junction 3 of the M50, one of the first
motorway s built in Britain. The slip roads on the junction end in right angled turns which often surprise motorists used to the more gradual, modern junction designs.A proposal to site two
wind turbine s near the village has generated some local opposition. [ This is Herefordshire - News Archive [http://archive.thisisherefordshire.co.uk/2005/10/14/70753.html] retrieved2006 -06-24 ]Map sources
The opposition to the proposal for two wind turbines has been successful in stopping this development.
