It is said from eyewitness accounts that from the overlook (that the photo was taken from) that bullfrogs can be heard. Also, the state park will occasionally host a nighttime sky watch. While lying down you can watch for shooting stars and orbiting satellites while a guide points out the constellations and stars. It is also said that the howling of a wolf can be heard during this nighttime sky watch. The lake is fed from the east end by the Carp River Inlet and the outflow from the western end is the Carp River, which empties into
Lake Superior on the boundary between Ontonagon and Gogebic County.References
