Seas of David

Seas of David

Seas of David was an alleged militant religious group seven of whose members were arrested by the FBI on June 23, 2006, as a part of a terror sting in Miami, Florida. Deputy FBI Director John Pistole has described this religious group, more "aspirational than operational" in its terrorist nature, who sought to buy weapons from someone they believed to be a representative of al-Qaeda in order to destroy the Sears Tower and the FBI building in Miami, Florida and among other targets, such as TV and Movie studios in Hollywood and the Empire State Building (see 2006 Sears Tower plot for more information).

On December 13, 2007, one of the men, Lyglenson Lemorin was acquitted of all charges by a Miami jury. The jury failed to reach a verdict on the other six defendants, prompting the judge to declare a mistrial. cite news | title = 1 acquitted, 6 to be retried, in alleged terror plot | author = Associated Press | publisher = CNN | date = December 13, 2007 | url = http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/12/13/miami.terror.trial/index.html?iref=mpstoryview] On April 16, 2008 - their 13th day of deliberations - the second jury reported they were deadlocked, resulting in a second mistrial. cite news | title = Deadlocked jury forces 2nd mistrial in Miami terrorism case | author = Associated Press | publisher = Google | date = April 16, 2008 | url = http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5idfDmrtarDonhbdqZdXQwhTtFYRwD9037ID80] The group claims to combine the teachings of both Christianity and Islam.
