Raja College of Engineering and Technology

Raja College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai was established by the Arun Ramkumar Educational Trust founded by PMJF.Lion G. Nagarajan. The College started functioning during the academic year 1995-96 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Tamilnadu. The College has obtained ISO 9000-2001 Certification in the year 2005. The College is located in a sprawling campus around 6 km from Anna Bus stand on Madurai-Sivaganga road.

Other Services

*A free health care service is given to all students and staff.

*A mineral water plant provides clean drinking water to staff and students in the classrooms, laboratory, hostel and mess.

*Transport. College buses and vans are provided for the staff and students from all parts of the city. The college provides a free transport facility for the teaching staff. Special buses are available after college hours for the convenience of the staff and students involved in sports and other activities.

*Hostels are separate for male and female students. Two students stay in each room. Single room accommodation is given to final-year and postgraduate students. They are also permitted to use their own computers in their rooms.

*The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for male and female students, as well as for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

*The canteen functions mostly for the day scholars, providing meals at a subsidised rate as well as snacks. A shop in the canteen caters for the needs of students accommodated in the hostel.

*Student counseling service. A staff counselor counsels each student once a fortnight. Performance at cycle tests and model exams are recorded. Parents are also invited to be involved in the process if required. Students are also counseled for personal problems, group behavior, etc.

Placements

The Placement Cell headed by the Placement Officer is assisting the students in getting suitable placements during the final year and also after their graduation. The Anna University off Campus Interview conducted periodically, help our students to get placed in various noted companies like

Wipros Infosys TCS HCL Satyam Verizon, etc., Indian Navy Indian Army, etc., Total No of Placed candidates in the year 2006 - 07 : 80,

Alumni

The alumni association meets annually. Staff vacancies in companies where alumni are working notified to current students.
