Ashland Regional Airport airport codes|DWU|KDWU|DWU is a public airport located in Worthington, Kentucky, a city in Greenup County Kentucky, USA six miles (10 km) northwest of the central business district of Ashland. It opened in 1953 as Ashland-Boyd County Airport and featured a convert|5000|ft|m|abbr=on runway with a convert|3000|ft|m|abbr=on clearance."A history of Ashland, Kentucky, 1786-1954." The airport was once used extensively by the oil manufacturing company Ashland Inc. before the company's corporate headquarters was moved from Russell to Covington. Currently, the airport serves local charter and private aircraft. Recently, community events, such as car and air shows, have also taken place at the airport.
