Semiha Borovac

Semiha Borovac

Semiha Borovac (born on March 2, 1955 in Sarajevo, Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia) is the current mayor of Sarajevo. She is Sarajevo's first female mayor. She is also a member of the SDA party. She has recently supported the decision to paint the sidewalks in Sarajevo green which is seen by Bosnian Croats and Bosnian Serbs are a provocation. Many Bosniaks in Sarajevo are also opposed to this move as it appears to ruin the multicultural spirit of the city. She claims that Sarajevo does not have enough plant life and that this would enhance the beauty of the city.
