IND Queens Boulevard Line has four tracks and twoisland platform s. This station has a blue color stripe with black border and no name tablet. I-beams are painted gold. There is a transfer to the elevatedIRT Flushing Line . The fare control is in the center of the mezzanine which does have a free crossover. Exiting the north fare control in the mezzanine and following the passageway will take you to the built-but-never-used Roosevelt Avenue terminal station. There is an unused trackway for westbound local trains beginning at outer wall just east of the station, rises up to the same level as 2 trackways, making 3 trackways on the upper level. At 78th Street, 3 trackways on upper level curve to the south, ending at "temporary" wall at the edge of constructed subway. Next to the Jamaica-Bound Local Track, a fourth local trackway for eastbound local trains is seen also curving to the south and similarly ending on a wall. The 4-track subway running south was a plan for a line to the Rockaways and South Jamaica proposed in 1929.IRT Flushing Line platforms

IND Queens Boulevard Line via five long escalators: three at 73rd Street and two at 74th. The 74th Street mezzanine has a wooden floor with windscreen on the stairs. There is a booth with crossunder. The 73rd Street mezzanine contains wooden stair walls, no windows, and no booth (the booth being in the IND entrance at the street level). From the mezzanines, there are 54 steps to this entrance. The canopy at the south end is different and appears to have been added later than the original canopy. In recent years, the area had been under heavy renovation, with construction on a new station building completed in 2005. The 2004 artwork here is called "Passage" by Tom Patti.
