- Claus Bryld
Claus Bryld (born 1940) is a Danish
NS-child and historian. He is one of the very few war-born NS-children who has written under their own names and thereby created a public debate.A well-known Danish left-wing intellectual, Bryld became a professor of modern history at
Roskilde University in 1995. The same year, he published his book "Hvilken befrielse" ("What a Liberation"), where he tells about growing up in the best-known Nazi family inDenmark . The men in his family were leaders inNational Socialist Workers' Party of Denmark (DNSAP). The first chapter is named after the daring bull-fighterManolete . It is a fight against the elder bullies in his family. Though his brother and sister are only a few years older, they are quite willing to strengthen his inferiority complex as a minor. Bryld has a keen eye for the generation conflict, but was nonetheless vehemently attacked in the Danish press for defending his family, even if his bias only was a result of his almost dreamlike longing for manhood.Links
