- Walter Butler, 11th Earl of Ormonde
Walter Butler, 11th Earl of Ormonde and 4th Earl of Ossory was born before 1578 and died in 1634. He was the son of John Butler (son of the 9th Earl) and Katherine MacCartie. He married Hon. Helen Butler, daughter of Edmund Butler, 2nd Viscount Montgarret and Grizel FitzPatrick. He was created Earl of Ormonde on the death of his uncle Thomas, without issue, in 1614.
His children were:
*Ellis Butler (d. 19 February 1625)
*Ellen Butler (d. 16 June 1663)
*Thomas Butler, Viscount Thurles (1594-1619), married with Elizabeth Poyntz, daughter of Sir John Poyntz. Kt. and had issue.
*Elizabeth Butler (b. 1631)
