Barre Mills, Wisconsin

Barre Mills is a small unincorporated community in the town of Barre in La Crosse County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the La Crosse, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Samuels' Cave, which is an important rock shelter, involving an ancient people is located in Barre Mills. It is on the National Register of Historic Places list.

Barre Mills was also home to the Free Thinkers Society, which was part of an important religious movement in Europe during the 1840s. The Free Thinkers Society had their hall in Barre Mills, which is now the Barre town hall.
