High School Career
During his high school career, Kindel played as a pitcher in addition to the outfield under coach
Terry Cadenhead atSprayberry High School inMarietta, Georgia . As a four-year letterwinner, Kindel also earned all-region and all-county honors as a junior in 2000, and as a senior in 2001. He was also a member of the prestigious East Cobb Yankees summer baseball program that won the AAU National Championship as well as the Connie Mack World Series. Kindel also excelled inbasketball , lettering two years as a guard and forward for the Sprayberry basketball team.College career
Kindel earned second-team All-
Atlantic Coast Conference honors in his first year as a starter. Some of his accolades include: hit safely in 50 of 62 games; went 6-for-16 (.375batting average ) in the ACC Tournament and earned all-tournament honors; also named to the all-tournament team at the NCAA Atlanta Regional, going 5-for-16 (.313) with five walks.2006 College World Series
