HMCS Patrician

HMCS Patrician was a Thornycroft "M" class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Built by Thornycroft & Company, Southampton, she was launched on 5 June 1916 as warship|HMS|Patrician and served in the Royal Navy in World War I.

She was decommissioned after the war but was reactivated in 1920 and outfitted for transfer to the Royal Canadian Navy. She was commissioned in the RCN on November 1, 1920 and renamed HMCS "Patrician".

HMCS "Patrician" departed for Halifax, Nova Scotia one month later in the company of her sister ship warship|HMCS|Patriot (ex-warship|HMS|Patriot) and the cruiser warship|HMCS|Aurora (ex-warship|HMS|Aurora). The three ships were offered by the Royal Navy to replace the RCN's warship|HMCS|Rainbow and warship|HMCS|Niobe.

HMCS "Patrician" saw service with the RCN through the 1920s and was decommissioned and scrapped in 1929.
