Alliance for Democracy (Dominican Republic)

The Alliance for Democracy (Spanish: "Alianza por la Democracia", or "APD") is a political party of the Dominican Republic. In the 16 May 2006 election, the party was a member of the winning Progressive Bloc. Currently the party is in fourth (4th) place of the preference of the electorate. The president is Dr. Max Puig. The organization advocates a new form of doing politics with social alliances and a more effective participation of the people.
