Abbas Alizadeh

Abbas Alizadeh is an Iranologist and Persian archaeologist.

Alizadeh is currently Senior Research Associate, [http://oi.uchicago.edu/research/projects/far/ Iranian Prehistoric Project] at the Oriental Institute of The University of Chicago. According to "Science" magazine, Alizadeh's hard work and determination have won him Iranian's authorities trust, so even after he moved to the United States, Iranian authorieties let him dig and survey in Elam, the region north of Khuzistan near Iran's border with Iraq. He is also credited with a central role in saving the Bastan Museum collection of potery, and introducing ethnobotany to Iranian students.
