Swami Indravesh (
Hindi :स्वामी इन्द्रवेश) (1937 –2006 ) was asocial worker ,Arya Samaj leader and formerlyMember of Parliament . He has done work in the field of education. He was born inSundana village in 1937 inHaryana in aHindu Jat family ofDhaka gotra. Swami Indravesh was influenced by the thoughts ofSwami Dayananda Saraswati in his childhood. He was a student ofSwami Omanand Sarswati in GurukalJhajjar . After becoming an acharya he taught at the Jhajjar Gurukul.He was president of
Haryana Arya Pratinidhi Sabha . Swami after playing a role during independence selected Jhajjar as his "Karam Bhumi" in early 50's. He selected this place because it was one of the most backward places. Then his efforts against illiteracy, superstition and "Bhrahmanwad" started here. He contributed in the social awakening of this area. He had knowledge of 14 languages and had written on many subjects.On March 25, 1970 Swami Indraveshji along with
Swami Agniveshj i andSwami Adityavesh ji became Sanyashis at DayanandmathRohtak and gained Deeksha fromSwami Omanand Saraswati ji.In 1970, he founded a political body called the
Arya Sabha . In 1973, he led an agitation of farmers for remunerative prices of agricultural produce.He coordinated the anti emergency stir, led by the late
Jayaprakash Narayan in the late ‘70s in Haryana. He was imprisoned during Emergency. However, he got disenchanted with theJanata Party in 1980 and joined the lateCharan Singh ’sLok Dal on whose ticket he successfully contested theRohtak Lok Sabha seat.In 1998, he joined the
Bharatiya Janata Party and contested the Rohtak seat, but lost. He then became the chief of the Haryana Arya Pratinidhi Sabha.He died on 12 June 2006.
