Adobogiona (fl. c. 80-c. 50 BC) was a
Celt icGalatia n princess.The daughter of
Deiotarus and sister toBrogitarus , princess of theTolistobogii tribe, she was also cousin to KingDeiotarus , a client ofPompey the Great. Adobogiona was married to Menodotus, a wealthy patrician citizen ofPergamum , inAsia Minor . Their sonMithridates ofPergamum was a friend and ally ofJulius Caesar , who appointed him astetrarch over theirTrocmi tribe shortly before his assassination in 44 BC. Adobogiona was honoured by a surviving inscription discovered on the island ofLesbos , and a portrait head of her has been discovered atPergamum .References
