To make their version more commercial and radio-friendly towards teenagers and kids, some of the lyrics from the original song were changed such as in the original version by Busted, it says "and your great-great-great granddaughter is pretty fine", while their version says "and your great-great-great granddaughter is doing fine", as well as, the Jonas Brothers' "7th album ... outsoldKelly Clarkson " instead ofMichael Jackson and "Girls there with round hair like Star Wars float above the floor" instead of "triple breasted women swim around town totally naked."Although the Jonas Brothers version was released in 2006, the song did not chart on the
Billboard Hot 100 until early2007 when the song finally debuted at #40. "Year 3000" was the group's first to chart and was also their first Top 40 single. The song eventually peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Year 3000" is featured on their first two albums, "It's About Time" and "Jonas Brothers".Music video
The music video for the Jonas Brothers' version of Year 3000 starts with the band entering a decorated garage. There they take their instruments: Nick picks a guitar, Kevin also picks another guitar while Joe only grabs the microphone. There they start singing while images of a man's house are shown with a zone that takes people to Year 3000. The zone is in a man's green sofa. There while they play the song they enter a passage into an all-white room. There they see people and a girl with pink hair. They all are wearing white while the other people are wearing colorful clothes. Near the end of the song, they show Joe playing an electronic keyboard. The song ends as Nick plays the guitar and sings in the garage.
