History
In
2006 , phase two of the TransMilenio system was completed, including the Avenida Suba line, on which this station is located.The station is named Rionegro as it is located two blocks from the location where Avendida Suba crosses the Rionegro canal, which runs westerly to the Juan Amarillo river.The canal runs from the east, running with the Virrey canal through the park of that same name.
The neighborhood located to the west of the station takes the same name.
