"The Turtle and the Hare" is the ninth episode of the first season of the HBO television series "Sex and the City". It originally aried on August 2 1998.

Carrie is unhappy when Mr. Big tells her that he never wants to get married again. Charlotte becomes addicted to a vibrator called "the Rabbit," recommended to her by Miranda. Stanford Blatch suggests that he and Carrie marry so that he can claim the inheritance that his grandmother gives when her relatives tie the knot. Stanny and Carrie think it would be a good idea to do it, since they enjoy each other's company and interests (men included). When he takes her to meet his grandmother, Stanford's grandma asks Carrie if she knows that he is a "fruit." Carrie then realizes that Grandmother won't be fooled.
