- Anne Simpson
Anne Allison Simpson (born
1956 ) is a Canadianpoet andnovelist .Simpson received her
B.A. and M.A. degrees fromQueen’s University , and a diploma in Fine Arts from theOntario College of Art and Design . Subsequently, she worked as aCUSO volunteer English teacher for two years inNigeria . She has been the recipient of two Nova Scotia Arts Council grants and severalCanada Council grants.Simpson was the co-winner of the 1997
Journey Prize , awarded for her short story "Dreaming Snow". Her second collection of poetry, "Loop" (2003), was the winner of the 2004 CanadianGriffin Poetry Prize .Simpson lives with her
family in Antigonish,Nova Scotia , where she teaches part-time atSt. Francis Xavier University .Bibliography
