*Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 22nd round of the 1965 amateur draft.Ronald Raymond Bryant (born
November 12 ,1947 in Redlands,California ) was aMajor League Baseball Pitcher from by|1967 to by|1975. Ron Bryant ended up his big league career with a 57-56 win-loss record and a 4.02 ERA - mostly with theSan Francisco Giants . He had 519 strikeouts in 917 career innings pitched. Despite his mediocre career record, Bryant would have one rather noteworthy season when in 1973 he finished up with a 24-12 record for San Francisco – although he accomplished this with a rather dubious 3.53 ERA. His 24 wins tied him withWilbur Wood for most victories on that year and made him theNational League 's only 20-game winner; in contrast, theAmerican League had 12. His best pitching year might have even been the year before in 1972 when he went 14-7 with a 2.90 ERA. However, Bryant’s career quickly took a turn for the worse in 1974 when he went 3-15 with a startling 5.61 ERA. Bryant’s major league pitching career would end the following year in 1975 with theSt. Louis Cardinals where he would pitch only ten games – with one start - and have an 0-1 record.ee also
