Lionel Vinyl

Lionel Vinyl

Lionel Vinyl ("nee" Ian Davenport) is one of the most prolific creators of bootleg or mash up mixes, where two or more radically different tunes are combined, most often using the a cappella of one track over the instrumental of another track. He has combined artists such as Yes and Sir Mix-A-Lot, The Strokes and Dizzee Rascal and Kylie Minogue and Mark Ronson. He has also had videos of his creations shown by British digital music channel QTV, MTV on its MTV Mash programme (under the name of Elektrobank), and his output is regularly aired on XFMs "The Remix". In addition to all this he creates his own remixes under the alias of Fake ID, used to DJ as part of Nu skool breaks duo 'half.arsed.beats', and comprises one half of Electro/Indie duo Geek Chic Soundsystem.

This is not the same Lionel Vinyl who once worked for 'Radio Wave' (96.5FM) in Blackpool, before opening a club ('Lionel's') in the town centre.

List of remixes (uncomplete):

Prodigy - Spitfire (FakeID Evolution)

Prodigy - Action Radar (FakeID Mix)
