Lakers School

Lakers School is a secondary school in Five Acres, Gloucestershire, England. Lakers is a Business and Enterprise College, with Alison Elliott as head teacher. The school's mission is "Creating success for all through challenge and support"

History

The school opened in 1910 as Berry Hill Secondary Modern. The school grew steadily as other small secondary schools closed, with students arriving from Joys Green and Lydbrook; to accommodate the extra students the school was largely composed of wooden sheds.

Berry Hill grew to become one of the largest secondary modern schools in Gloucestershire. In 1985 re-organisation took place and Lakers School was formed.

The school has around 800 pupils. It is on the same site as the Royal Forest of Dean College with which it shares sports facilities.

Give Us Your Kit

Lakers School is part of a scheme whereby students can donate used rugby kit and equipment to the developing world such as Kenya. This is in association with IRB SOS KIT AID and Gloucester R.F.C.
