The show is known for its rotating cast of contributors, which include current Carnegie Mellon students, as well as both Carnegie Mellon alumni and

Over the years, "Sportsline" has featured events not normally heard on conventional sports talk programming. Among these innovations are
push up contests and elections to determine the rightful host of the show. The show has also featured debate games such as "That's a Lie" and "You're Out, Jerk!," a scored competitive banter game modeled afterESPN 's "Around the Horn ". The inaugural "Sportsline Poker Showdown" was held during the Spring 2006 semester. Panelists playedTexas Hold 'Em Poker to earn bragging rights.
