Black-winged Stilt primarily occurs in Britain as a spring overshoot.

Black-winged Stilt has bred in Britain on the following occasions:

* Leigton Moss, Lancashire, 2006 - Two pairs attempted to nest but the eggs failed to hatch.

The Titchwell stilt

A particularly celebrated individual stilt was resident at Titchwell, Norfolk from August 1993 until 2004.
