Kelly Asbury

Kelly Adam Asbury (born January 15, 1960 in Beaumont, Texas) is an American director, writer, actor and author. He is known for directing many different movies including Shrek 2 and , and is directing an upcoming movie entitled "Gnomeo and Juliet". His name has also been attached to a film version of the novel "The Thief of Always". In addition to directing, Asbury provided some of the voices in Shrek 2. He has written a non-fiction book entitled "Dummy Days", which is a biography of five 20th century ventriloquists. In addition, Asbury has written or co-written a number of short children's books. Asbury currently resides in Pasadena, California.

August 1, 2008: Kelly Asbury is currently residing in London, UK where he's developing the story and production design for his next animated feature "Gnomeo and Juliet". In 2009 he will relocate to Toronto, Canada where actual production will take place. The movie will be released in early 2011.

Kelly Asbury also provided voices in "Shrek the Third" and, throughout his 25 year career, has read scenes with many famous actors who provided voices for films.

Kelly Asbury is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Writers Guild, The Screen Actors Guild and The Animation Guild.

Kelly Asbury is the former husband of actress/artist Loretta Weeks (Married:1990 - Divorced:2006).
