Jukka Rahja (1887,
Kronstadt –August 31 ,1920 ,Petrograd ) was aRussia n-Finnishbolshevik who joined theRussian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1903. He was also active in the Finnish labour youth movement. Rahja fled to theRussian SFSR after theFinnish Civil War and became a founding member of the Finnish Communist Party (SKP). Rahja was murdered in Petrograd by the opposition communists led byAku Paasi in 1920. The so-called "murder opposition" consisted mainly of students of thePetrograd Red Officer School .Jukka was the brother of
Eino Rahja andJaakko Rahja . The word "Rahjaism" was used to describe the politics of the brothers, who were usually in conflict with their comrades and attracted many enemies. The Rahjas were involved insmuggling , blackmarketing, horse-trading and fabrication of money, for example, and they were accused of corruption, extravagant life anddrunkenness in the SKP.
