Administrative divisions of Cameroon
- Administrative divisions of Cameroon
Cameroon is divided into a number of administrative divisions. These are known by two terms, one English and one French. Both terms are considered official. The divisions are as follows:
* 10 provinces ("provinces") under the authority of a governor ("gouverneur");
* 58 divisions ("départements") administered by a senior divisional officer ("préfet");
* 269 sub-divisions ("arrondissements") administered by a junior divisional officer ("sous-préfet");
* 53 districts administered by a district head ("chef de district").
