"Pleasure and Pain" is the name of an LP released in 1992 as a vinyl record by Ben Harper and Tom Freund (both previously from the band Thirsty Dog), consisting of 11 predominantly standards-based tracks with no backing recorded at the Cardas studio in California. It led to the signing of Ben Harper to Virgin Records. Soon after this recording Ben toured with Taj Mahal as a backing guitarist. The record was only pressed 1500 times, and is now considered to be a collector's item.

----"Pleasure and Pain" is also the name of a documentary DVD directed by Danny Clinch (co-directed and edited by Sam Lee) about Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. It covers much of Harper's philosophy and tour schedule, while also providing a format for visualizing Harper's songs. Included on the DVD are behind-the-scenes segments shot backstage and in Harper's hometown of Claremont, California where Harper's family-owned music store and museum, Folk Music Center, is located. Endearing moments spent with Ben's grandfather, Charles Chase; grandmother, Dorothy Chase; and mother, Ellen Chase-Verdries, are also shared.

It is also an album by the band Theatres des Vampires, released in the year 2005.
