Kormakitis (Greek spelling Κορμακίτης, "Turkish: Koruçam") is a small village near the northwestern cape of
Cyprus , in the area occupied by the Turkish army, also called theTRNC . It is the historical centre of theMaronite Church in Cyprus. TheCape Kormakitis is named after the village. Before the war of1974 the village had around 1000 inhabitants.Kormakitis is one of four Maronite villages in Cyprus. After theTurkish Invasion of Cyprus , there are only a small number of inhabitants still living in the village. The Maronites of Kormakitis speak a unique Arabic dialect.External links
