World Association of Newspapers' Golden Pen of Freedom Award
- World Association of Newspapers' Golden Pen of Freedom Award
The Golden Pen of Freedom Award is a prestigious International Journalism award, given annually by the World Association of Newspapers to individuals or organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the defence and promotion of press freedom.
By galvanizing media coverage of the award winners, the award focuses attention on individuals who may be in danger and could benefit from international exposure.
Established in 1961, the Award is presented each year at the opening ceremony of the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Forum.
