Lucas Prata is a pop musician born in Bayside, Queens, New York. Fact|date=June 2007 He has produced several recognizable hits such as "Never Be Alone", "And She Said", "Love of My Life", and "Let's Get It On." Prata and Dan Bălan produced The "Ma Ya Hi Song," an English version of the international hit "Dragostea din tei" by Bălan's original band, O-Zone. "The Ma Ya Hi Song" did not achieve the success of the original, which went to number one in 27 countries and sold over eight million singles throughout the world in various languages.Fact|date=June 2007

Early life and career

Lucas Prata at an early age has passionately pursued the stage. Captivating audiences at such venues as MTV, National Television spots for Coca Cola, McDonald's, JC Penney, Sienfeld, TMC, and LA Gear.Fact|date=June 2007 After accomplishing successful television ventures, Prata went on to his true passion, music.

Prata attended the University of Miami in Florida. During his time at the University he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In his senior year at the University of Miami, Prata won the Mr. University of Miami contest for his vocal ability. This win convinced him to pursue singing as a full-time career.Fact|date=June 2007

Moving back to his native New York after graduating with a double major, Prata recorded and released his own singles. Sony recording artist George Lamond took Prata under his creative wing and hired him to tour with him as his back up singer and dancer with his hit at the time "Bad of the Heart".

Rise to success

In the summer of 2000, Prata found himself teamed up with Salt-n-Pepa as the opening act for their North American tour. Thousands of fans in 80 cities caught Lucas' performances which included his hit single at the time, "Fly Away"Fact|date=June 2007

In his continued pursuit to further his career, Lucas found himself in the C+C Music Factory studios auditioning for a group. This is where he met Ricky Crespo, who at the time was the programmer/co-producer for C+C. Lucas and Ricky quickly became friends and began creating music that began to attract the attention of major record labels.

Within a span of several months, Lucas's songs "Never Be Alone", "And She Said" and "Love of My Life" featuring Reina all scored major airplay on such radio stations WKTU and WMPH.Fact|date=June 2007 The second single from his debut album, "And She Said", saw crossover success on on New York City Pop music station, Z100 where it a garnered moderate airplay.

2006-present

His 2006 single, "Lets Get It On" became the number-one requested record in Miami's Party 93.1 in just two weeks. Fact|date=June 2007It is a fact that Lucas Prata held the position of Music Director at Miami's Party 93.1 when "Lets Get It On" Became "number-one requested record. "And She Said" was also rewritten by David Brody of Z100 as a cheer song for the New York Mets, "And we say... LETS GO METS", which he performed live at the teams 2006 postseason rally on October 3rd. The song and its video were regularly played at Shea Stadium during the 2006 Season and Post Season.Fact|date=June 2007

Prata was the featured performer on an episode of MTV's hit show "My Super Sweet 16" in 2006.Fact|date=June 2007

On June 7, 2007 Prata performed at the Yorktown High School Senior Prom at the Glen Island Harbor Club in New Rochelle, NY. As of 2007, Prata's album has been licensed by Ministry of Sound in the UKFact|date=June 2007 (one of the biggest dance labels in the world), and other labels throughout the world have also picked up the album.Fact|date=June 2007

Another track from the album, "I Think I'm Falling In Love" has been released in Sweden with mixes by DaBuzz while the next U.S. single is "We've Got It Going On" which has also been remixed by the producer, Discopunx.

Also on the horizon is a duet with Kim Sozzi - "DYWM" is a cover of the Human League's "Don't You Want Me". It was debuted live on New Years Eve at Mirage on Long Island. "DYWM" was performed live at WKTU Beatstock Festival on August 19th 2007 for thousands of fans. Executive's at Ultra Records Expect "DYWM" to be Prata's biggest hit ever, pushing him into the Pop world. Lucas Prata and Kim Sozzi are better vocalists than Human League and the new production is much more suited to 2008 than the original. "We expect "DYWM" to be the #1 hit of 2008" Says Chuck Eddy of The Village Voice, "DYWM is a natural for Pop Radio. Hot Dance Producer Giuseppe D produced this genius cover and it is a Hands Down Hit".

Lucas' first single from his second album is "All The Girls." "All The Girls" got aired on 2 radio stations in the US. One which he mentions in the song, the other on Long Island where he does regular promotions.
