George Tsamis (born
June 14 1967 inCampbell, California ) is a former professionalbaseball player who pitched for theMinnesota Twins during the 1993 season. As apitcher for the Twins, he appeared in 41 games and had a record of 1-2 with an ERA of 6.19. He is the current manager of theSt. Paul Saints , a professional independent minor league team fromMinnesota , and has been since 2003. He led the Saints to the 2004 Northern League championship.Prior to his run in St. Paul, Tsamis managed the
Waterbury Spirit andNew Jersey Jackals , winning league titles with the Jackals in 2001 and 2002.Tsamis was notable for his role as a
replacement player with theLos Angeles Dodgers duringSpring Training prior to the 1995 season. Replacement players took over for professional baseball players when theMajor League Baseball Players Association went on strike. The strike was resolved at the end of Spring Training. Due to his role as a replacement player, Tsamis was not permitted membership in theMajor League Baseball Players Association .Tsamis recently managed the North Division in the American Association
