George Tsamis

George Tsamis

George Tsamis (born June 14 1967 in Campbell, California) is a former professional baseball player who pitched for the Minnesota Twins during the 1993 season. As a pitcher for the Twins, he appeared in 41 games and had a record of 1-2 with an ERA of 6.19. He is the current manager of the St. Paul Saints, a professional independent minor league team from Minnesota, and has been since 2003. He led the Saints to the 2004 Northern League championship.

Prior to his run in St. Paul, Tsamis managed the Waterbury Spirit and New Jersey Jackals, winning league titles with the Jackals in 2001 and 2002.

Tsamis was notable for his role as a replacement player with the Los Angeles Dodgers during Spring Training prior to the 1995 season. Replacement players took over for professional baseball players when the Major League Baseball Players Association went on strike. The strike was resolved at the end of Spring Training. Due to his role as a replacement player, Tsamis was not permitted membership in the Major League Baseball Players Association.

Tsamis recently managed the North Division in the American Association All-Star Game in Sioux Falls, SD.
