The Vancouver SkyTrain is a two-line urban mass transit system. The SkyTrain is operated by TransLink and serves the Metro Vancouver area. The Expo Line was built in time for the Expo 86 World's Fair; the Millennium Line opened in 2002. It uses Bombardier's Advanced Rapid Transit technology, with fully automated trains running principally on elevated tracks (hence the name). There are 33 stations on the SkyTrain, four of which are only on the Expo Line (all of which are in Surrey), 13 of which are only on the Millenium Line, and 16 of which are on both. The majority of the stations are located in Vanouver, with 13, and Burnaby, with 11. The SkyTrain's track makes up the longest automated light rapid transit system in the world, with a length of convert|49.5|km|mi. [cite web|title=South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority|url=http://www.translink.bc.ca/Transportation_Services/SkyTrain/|publisher=TransLink|accessdate=2008-10-04] It also uses the longest mass transit-only bridge, the SkyBridge, to cross over the Fraser River. Notes

note label|Note1|a|a The TransLink fare structure is based on a zone system. Municipalities are located in one of three transit zones, and fares are calculated based on the number of zones travelled.
