Melissa Wu is a fictional character of "Flight 29 Down". She is played by Kristy Wu.

Character Info

Melissa is a student at Hartwell School. Her best friend is Nathan McHugh, but is loyal to both him and his rival, Daley Marin.While stranded on the island with nine other students from Hartwell, her loyalties remain torn between Nathan and Daley.

Melissa is an optimistic person, who is able to find a good thing in any bad situation. Melissa is an avid peacemaker and organizer in the group. When Nathan and Jackson had an argument, she played peacekeeper between the two - to try to find reason for their actions.

Melissa is often the one that is told the group's secrets. For an example, Melissa remains Nathan's confidant about his feelings for Daley. Melissa had started telling lies to cover up Nathan's feelings for Daley when they started questioning what was going on between the two of them. She accidentally told them that Nathan was in love with Daley. She went to explain herself to Nathan and she was forgiven. Daley confided in Melissa about her feelings for Nathan.

She develops a crush on Jackson. Her secret was literally broadcast to the entire camp by Taylor and Eric. She stormed off the beach resulting in her fall off a cliff which got her trapped on a ledge with Taylor. The two were later rescued, and Jackson and Melissa had agreed to keep their relationship platonic (as friends) while on the island, so everything wouldn't be weird.

Melissa was quick to defend Jackson and his actions in the past when everyone was concerned about what happened between him and a guy that got injured.

Melissa took pity on Eric being punished for breaking the lighter, which was their only source of fire, and suggested that he should be the one to get the terrifying gila monster out. As a matter of fact, it was easy for him since Eric had a pet iguana at home. This was something that Eric owed her for.

For her "Chilloween" present, Melissa made drawings describing them. She became troubled when she thought something was going on between Jackson and Taylor. Daley confided in Melissa about her feelings for Nathan.
