"This Fire" is Paula Cole's second album. It was written, produced and performed by the artist herself. According to the RIAA, the album has gone double platinum selling over 2 million copies in US and peaked at #20 on the Billboard 200 chart [http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/retrieve_chart_history.do?model.chartFormatGroupName=Albums&model.vnuArtistId=36739&model.vnuAlbumId=906545] .

It produced the hit singles "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" and "I Don't Want to Wait" (this track is widely known for being the theme song for the hit series "Dawson's Creek"). Paula's third single was, "Me". Though the song "Feelin' Love" was never released as a single, it did become one of the albums most popular songs. This song was included on the multiplatinum selling soundtrack "".

According to the booklet, the album is dedicated to "the inner fire of all life. May our seeds of light open, brighten, and sow peace on earth".

On the 1997 Grammy Awards, "This Fire" received three nominations: "Album of the Year" (losing to Bob Dylan's "Time Out of Mind"), "Best Pop Vocal Album" (losing to James Taylor's "Hourglass"), and "Producer of the Year" for Paula Cole (losing to Babyface).
