Aichi H9A was a twin-engine, parasol-wing flying boat, designed in response to Imperial Japanese Navy requirements for an advanced seaplane trainer for the Kawanishi H8K1 Emily flying boats. Design work started in January 1940 and a
prototype was flown in September.Operational history
From May-June 1942, it was employed in a variety of secondary roles, including antisubmarine missions along the Japanese coasts, transport, paratroop training and liaison.
