It operates mainly in the newer suburban overseas Chinese communities, particularly in the Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and New York City areas.

Hong Kong Supermarket specializes mainly in imported Asian groceries. Many items are especially from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, and Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The store in Monterey Park, California, is a popular destination for Mainland Chinese emigres, the San Gabriel, California and Rowland height, location caters to immigrants from Taiwan. The West Covina, California, location caters to Indonesians as the store tends to stock a good number of Indonesian products.
