mountain pass connectingLahaul district inHimachal Pradesh toLadakh inJammu and Kashmir .It is on National Highway connecting Manali and Leh. The
Bhaga River (a tributary of theChandrabhaga or Chenab) originates fromSurya taal (the lake of the Sun god), which is situated a couple of kilometers away from the pass towards Manali. The other major tributary of the Chandrabhaga, the Chandra also originates from glacier in this region. There is a trekking route from Bara Laacha La toChandra Taal (the lake of the Moon god) which is situated by the bank ofChandra River in theSpiti District .More photos
