Fashion Star Fillies

Fashion Star Fillies are a group of toy model horses created by Kenner Toys in the 1980s.

The toys are characterized by their outrageous coloring and realistic sculpting. They were designed to be fashion models whose hair one could style. There were several outfits and accessory packs released as the toy lines developed. They were popular due to their lustrous paint, quality hair, and breed-accurate figures. Their often outrageous style also complimented the current fashion themes in the 1980s. They came with accessories such as leg-cuffs, barretes, bows and combs. All Fashion Star Fillies toys had a gold star on their cheek (only "Cliff" had the star it on his shoulder).

Accessories included costumes (like ballerina) and outfits (evening gown), as well as accents (barrettes, polishes, stickers, and jewelry) Many were released for the adults as well as sixteens.

Fashion Star Fillies were sold in the United States, and perhaps also in other countries.

The toyline was discontinued in the late 1980s, but fans of the Fashion Star Fillies continue to collect and trade the toys, often via online trading and auction websites.

Original Fillies

The first 6 Fashion Star Fillies were:
* Chloe: Lipizzaner - White, and dappled with silver and white hair
* Dara: Andulusian - Green and purple tipped with green hair
* Calla: Arabian - Pearl-white with deep purple hair
* Nikki: Polo Pony - Purple with silver tips and pink w/purple hair
* Lani: Palomino - Orange with silver & white tips and yellow/orange hair
* Joelle: Thoroughbred - Purple with green tips and curly purple hair

Due to their success, more waves of toys were released. These included:

Royal Beauties

* Tonya: African Queen - bright pink and green with oval spots all over and curly 2-tone hair
* Anya: Siberian Princess - Frost green, pink, white and purple with pale green & pink long wavy hair
* Cleo: Egyptian Empress - Cream pink with leopard spots in pink and purple. Medium length purple & blue hair

assy Sixteens

These were younger horses, with builds between colts and adults, like teenagers. You can't particularly tell the horse types apart with these so they all had a hobby instead.

* Janel: Pink & darker pink with teal greenish/blue points. A rock star
* Ariel: Yellow with yellow curly hair, pink tips and purple accents (there are 2 versions, light and dark) This one is a performing artist
* Corinne: Purple & Silver with purple spots (there are 2 versions, light and dark)She is a princess
* Sarena: Purple and pink with silver tips. She has purple and pink accent hair. An artist
* Justine: Light and dark green, with pink hooves and green hair. A movie star
* Fallon: Pale pink with gold tips and light pink hair. She was a millionaire

Feelin' Fancy Horses

These were adult fillies, and they had different lace patterns on their sides. Some of these were re-releases of popular fillies from the first set.

* Chloe: Same as the first chloe, but with purple lace with ruffles
* Joelle: Same as the first Joelle, but with greenish/blue lace with stars
* Devan: Frost blue and white with blue & pink hair. Has ice-shaped blue lace, a snow princess
* Raquel: Medium pink with purple points and pink & White hair. A beauty queen with floral white lace. (*she had 2 poses)
* Darci: Peach with pink accents and pink & 'blonde' hair. It is crimped and she is a California Valley Girl with palm-tree lace
* Chantilly: Peach with darker peach points and purple hair. She has heart pink lace and is a Southern Belle
* Jasmine: Blue with dark blue points and blue hair. A gorgeous movie star with pink stars lace
* Tamara: Ice blue metallic with darker blue and silver points. Dark blue draping lace and purple, pink and hot-pink tight curls make her exotic. She is a Spanish enchantress. (*she had 2 poses, one of which is hers alone)

ong Star Sixteens

These are 'sassy sixteens' mould fillies with musical themes. They have glitter symbols on their sides and tinsel clumps in their hair. They are rare-er to collect.

* Bobbi: A 50's singer with green body and pink/purple points. Her hair is curly pink and green. Her symbol is pink hearts
* Janis: Rock Star Singer with purple body, and blue and silver points. Her hair is streight pink and purple. Her symbol is gold stars
* Jolene: A country singer with pink and white body. She has purple points and spots. Her hair is curly with purple and blue. She has a blue music notes symbol

weet Scent Sixteens

These 'sassy sixteens' mould fillies smelled like things. Their smells tend to fade once removed from the box. These were unique because of the smell, and also their paint was matte-finish with no metallic hue. Their points also tended to be clear plastic, an unusual touch.

* Lalana: Orange smelling. Yellow and pink with white & pink points. Her hair is yellow
* Shara: Cherry Smelling. Dark & light pink with hot pink curly hair
* Gina: Grape Smelling. Pale purple with dark purple hair

Other Fillies

There are 2 unique fillies without lines. These are Jossyln the super-long hair filly, and Cliff the stallion.

* Josslyn: is purple or pink with darker accents and purple or pink floor-length hair that has tinsel in it. She is the only filly who has tinsel mixed into all of her hair. She came with a stand and 'star styler' hair accessory
* Cliff: Cliff is the only boy filly. He is white with purple & silver tips. His hair is white and buzzed, shorter than the fillies'. He is larger then all other fillies also.
