William Beale

William Beale (1 January 17843 May 1854) was a composer.

William Beale first served as a chorister at Westminster Abbey before going to sea as a midshipman. He later devoted his career to music and became an organist and composer of glees and madrigals. Around 1816 he is recorded as living in Westminster. He composed the part song "Come let us join the roundelay".

"William Beale is also the inventor and owner of the patent on the Free Piston Stirling Engine in 1964 and founded the Stirling Engine manufacturing company, Sunpower in Athens, Ohio, USA. Sunpower works to create Stirling powered devices from engines to refrigerators and thinks it can really change the world with a CFC (chlorofluorocarbons) free cooling system."For more on sunpower see http://www.sunpower.com/index.php
