Yeghish Arakyal Monastery, is an Armenian
monastery that is located on the bank of theYeghsharakel River in theMardakert region of theRepublic of Nagorno-Karabakh . Because of the close proximity to the militarized border, no visitors are allowed to travel to the monastery. Yeghish Arakyal Monastery was built sometime in the5th century . Theminster is surrounded by 7chapel s, one of which is the tomp of king Vachagan III, also known asVachagan the Pious (487-510).
