Montrose (CTA Brown Line)

It is an elevated station with two side platforms, located at the southern edge of Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. The stations that are adjacent to Montrose are Damen, about ½ mile to the northwest, and Irving Park, ½ mile to the south.

History

Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project

The Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project aims to allow 8 car trains on the Brown Line by the extension of the platforms at all stations. At the same time all Brown Line stations are being upgraded to meet ADA requirements. Montrose Station was closed between 2 December 2006 and 26 November 2007 to be rebuilt as part of this project. On November 26th, 2007, the Montrose Brown Line station re-opened for service.
