Miss Chennai

Miss Chennai is a popular beauty pageant contest organised by VIBA on behalf of Miss Chennai Foundation since 1999 in Chennai district, Tamil Nadu, India.

The finalists in Miss Chennai contest win a straight entry as the fashion ambassador of the city and country to the Miss Intercontinental, and other participants have the opportunity to be picked to represent India at the World Miss University as well as the Petite International. The participants in Miss Chennai contests are rigorously trained by a number of experts — a diction teacher, a fitness expert, professional models who teach them to catwalk and a dentist who perfect their smiles. They even have sessions on yoga and meditation.

The Miss Chennai contest is usually held in May each year and serves as a platform for the aspiring ladies to enter into the field of films, modelling, fashion designing and singing. The event has sixteen participants who will compete for the honour and goodies worth Rs.100,000. [1]
