Malmö was attacked and plundered by Victual Brothers in 1394. Malmöhus Castle was completed in the middle of the 15th century, intended as a city defense, it was also served as a prison until 1914. On August 23, 1900, Lars Nilsson became the last person to be executed on the castle courtyard, where he was beheaded by executioner Anders Gustaf Dalman.

The first cinema show ever in Sweden took place in Malmö 1896, the 28th of June.
