- Ireland international rules football team
The Ireland international rules football team is the representative team for
Ireland (bothNorthern Ireland and theRepublic of Ireland ) ininternational rules football , a compromise betweenGaelic football andAustralian rules football . The team is made up ofGaelic Athletic Association players.At present the only team it plays is the
Australia international rules football team , on an annual basis.Starting in 2006 a women's series has been inaugurated to coincide with the men's and become an integral part of the annual series. Ireland won the first series.
Under 19 and Under 17 national teams also participate in separate tournaments.
