December 17 ,1976 ) is aSouth Korea n football player, who currently plays for theK-League teamIlhwa Chunma . Currently, he plays for the South Korean National Team as a central defender, but he has drawn much blame and criticism from the Koreans due to several blunders he made during international matches. One of his critical faults was made in an Asian Cup qualifying match against Iran, in Seoul. In the dying minutes of the match, Korea Republic were leading the game with one point. As Iran's long pass that landed near the goal area, both Kim Young-Kwang and Kim Sang-Sik raced to possess the ball. Kim Sang-Sik got to the ball first, but did not attempt to either clear or pass the ball. Eventually, Iranian striker Hashmien stole the ball and lobbed it over Kim Young-Kwang, who had come far out from the goal area. The game ended as a draw, giving Iran the lead of the Asian Cup Qualifications table.Kim Sang-Sik cannot take all the blame for his faults as a centre back because he is originally a defensive midfielder for Ilhwa Chunma.
